Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. If you ordered a digital product and were not able to download it first please check your SPAM folder. If you still cannot find it, please email us directly before initiating a charge back - this costs our small business two to three times the amount of any book you may buy and we would prefer to help you directly resolve the issue by re-issuing the digital product ASAP or cancelling the order.

Return policy for customers outside the European Union (EU)

Our paperback and hardback books books and any other future physical products are fulfilled through a print-on-demand production, which means each book that is printed is printed for your order and shipped by a third-party printer directly to your location. This means our books will take longer to reach you than when you order on Amazon or other big-box retailers. It is then given to a local delivery service like your private or public postal service for delivery and we will send a tracking number with each order. 

We are a Netherlands based company fulfilling orders globally. As such, customers outside the EU must pay for shipping to Europe to return a product. They must initiate this process within thirty days of purchase and the product must be returned to us within sixty days of purchase for a refund, if it is approved.

To start a return, first contact us at hello@tropeandswagger.com with the subject line [Initiating return or exchange] and share why you would like to initiate a return. We will work with you to resolve any dissatisfaction. 

If your return request is accepted by us, the customer should pay to ship the item back to our business. Please note that returns will need to be sent to the following address: Stationslaan 398, 4815 GW Breda, Netherlands. The package must be placed with the mail carrier in your origin country with a postmark within 30 days from the date of delivery to your address.

Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), electronic items like digital books, and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges

If your book or product is damaged in any way, contact us at hello@tropeandswagger.com and we will work to initiate an exchange and get you an undamaged product. We do not accept exchanges for any other reason. 

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase and the customer will pay to ship the item back to our shop. 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.

Return & Refund Policy — EU Customers

This policy applies exclusively to customers purchasing from within the European Union.

Your Right of Withdrawal Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving any reason.

To exercise this right, notify us within 14 days of delivery by contacting: Email: hello@tropeandswagger.com Subject line: "Right of Withdrawal — Order [order number]"

You then have a further 14 days to return the item(s) to us. Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrectly sent.

Refunds We will process your refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof of return, whichever is earlier). Refunds are issued to your original payment method. Please contact hello@tropeandswagger.com with your customer order number to initiate this process. 

Condition of Returns Items must be returned in their original condition. We reserve the right to deduct an amount reflecting any diminished value if the goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to assess their nature and function.

Exceptions The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Digital content (e.g. ebooks, downloadable files) once downloading has begun, if you consented to this and acknowledged the loss of withdrawal right at purchase
  • Sealed goods that have been unsealed after delivery and are unsuitable for return on hygiene grounds

Faulty or Incorrect Items If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, contact us at hello@tropeandswagger.com within 30 days. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you.
